'Baked Alaska' is f*cking screwed
Half-a-dozen pending legal matters involve Anthime "Tim" Gionet
Anthime "Tim" Gionet, aka “Baked Alaska,” is majorly screwed and it’s not readily apparent that he or his buddies really understand exactly how screwed he is.
Gionet is a noxious racist and anti-Semitic social media personality who rose to national prominence early in the Trump era for his outlandish online presentation and involvement in seedy political efforts. He was a scheduled speaker at the violent 2017 “Unite the Right” white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, during which he famously begged for milk after he was pepper sprayed. I reported on Gionet shortly after Unite the Right for Right Wing Watch:
Gionet has posted music renditions of the popular white supremacist “14 words” phrase that states: “We must secure the existence of our people and a future for white children.” He also proclaimed “Hail Victory,” a Nazi call, at the Unite the Right rally and warned that white people have been “too nice.” He has harassed Jewish reporters, tweeting, “If you’re hungry I’ve got an oven,” referring to ovens used to cremate Jews during the Holocaust and claimed allegiance to the Alt-Right again and again and again and again.
In recent years, Gionet rebranded himself as an IRL streamer who uses hateful language and harasses people in public places. He, aged in his early 30s, attached himself to the “groyper” white nationalist youth movement, which targets college-aged white men after he lied about leaving the extremist movement.
If there is one shred of cosmic karma in this universe, it has rained itself on Gionet. The consequences of his actions finally seem to be catching up to him.
Election Interference Case References ‘Baked Alaska’ Account
On Wednesday, the Federal Bureau of Investigation arrested Douglass Mackey, whom HuffPost unmasked in 2018 as the anti-Semitic and white nationalist Twitter troll known as “Ricky Vaughn.” Mackey was hit with federal election interference charges alleging he conspired with others to conduct a disinformation campaign targeting Black supporters of then-candidate Hillary Clinton. The complaint lists Mackey’s co-conspirators only by their Twitter ID numbers, which an anti-fascist researcher quickly attributed to four Twitter accounts:
Baked Alaska
Microchip
Nia4Trump
1080p
Attached to the charging document is this interesting footnote:
It’s possible that the trial of Mackey could reveal even more damning connection between the election interference efforts of “Ricky Vaughn” and other MAGA personalities. But for now, that remains to be seen.
Gionet charged in insurrection on U.S. Capitol
On January 16, federal authorities said Gionet was arrested on federal criminal charges for his role in the attack on the U.S. Capitol building. Gionet entered the U.S. Capitol while livestreaming on the alternative tech platform DLive, which has since banned his account.
According to charging documents, Gionet—while broadcasting to the internet—discouraged people from leaving the Capitol and chanted “Patriots are in control" and "Traitors, traitors, traitors!" He entered a congressional office and put his feet on the desk.
The FBI is reportedly using Gionet’s livestream to track down other participants in the January 6 attack.
Gionet charged with assaulting bouncer at bar
On December 10, Gionet was filmed being arrested by Scottsdale, Arizona, police after pepper-spraying a bouncer at a bar. He was charged with assault, disorderly conduct, and criminal trespassing. The Phoenix New Times reported that in video of his arrest, “one of [Gionet’s] companions uses the n-word to refer to the officers, none of whom appear to be Black.”
Authorizes say Gionet was released from jail with an agreement that he not leave the state. After it became apparent that he had traveled to D.C. and participated in the attack on the U.S. Capitol, a warrant was issued for his re-arrest.
After the warrant was issued, the Phoenix New Times reported, Scottsdale City Court became inundated with strange filings on Gionet’s case. The Phoenix New Times reports:
"Please throw my case out.yoba[sic]," read the first emailed motion to dismiss a criminal case against Alaska, whose real name is Anthime Joseph Gionet.
"Free my [n-word] tim alaska," read the next submission, in part.

Another, which consisted of 22 pages of ejaculating penis emojis, was submitted 21 consecutive times.
Possible charges for defacing Hanukah display
Gionet may also face charges for defacing a menorah display erected in front of the Arizona Capitol, the Phoenix New Times reports:
Arizona Department of Public Safety spokesperson Bart Graves said Tuesday that the department plans to send a criminal damage charge against Gionet to Maricopa County prosecutors to review in connection with the vandalism.
Pending ‘Unite the Right’ Lawsuits
Emily Gorcenski notified me today that Gionet is also connected to two pending lawsuits stemming from the Unite the Right white supremacist rally.
And with that, I leave you with the Baked Alaska track for the moment: “We Love Our Cops.”
