In this bonus interview, which paid subscribers to SH!TPOST get an exclusive first listen to, I speak with Caleb Cain—a young man radicalized and then de-radicalized on YouTube—about one of the questions I get most often. If you meet someone who has been radicalized online, how do you reach out to them?
I include the caveat that the responsibility of de-radicalization is not one that every person should take upon themselves; depending on the individuals involved, it can sometimes put folks in harm’s way. But for those up to the task, Caleb shares some tips on talking to people who are in a spot he found himself when he was at his most extreme.
