Help Animals, Watch Me Cry
Impossibly spicy, unthinkably cute
I’ve teamed up with my buddy Jordan Uhl on his fundraiser benefiting the Morris Animal Refuge in Philadelphia. The rescue is trying to purchase microchip scanners so they can more easily track the animals in their care and reunite lost and missing animals with their owners. The people who run this operation are incredibly kind and loving folks (and, not to mention, they’re a fun follow online), but they could really use our help purchasing these devices.
So, here’s the deal: Jordan and I are hoping that between the two of us, our friends, our family, and our online pals, we can raise $5,000 for the shelter to get them the equipment they need. We’ve already raised $1,625. To up the ante, we’re promising to broadcast live our consumption of a snack chip that is supposed to be impossibly hot.
The Paqui Carolina Reaper Madness chip is so hot that they sell them one-at-a-time. As its name suggests, this chip is covered in seasoning made with the Carolina Reaper pepper, which is the hottest pepper in the world. I’ve included an image of where the pepper falls on the Scoville scale for spiciness; I’d highlight it, but it’s at the very top.
I have been watching videos online of other people eating the chip. People are crying, vomiting, and sweating seconds after they eat this stupid corn chip. I do not react well to spicy food, and I anticipate this will absolutely wreck me.
If I’m going to do this, I’d at least try to help some animals along the way. If you are financially able, I hope you’ll join us in this fundraiser. If this is successful, everyone gets to watch Jordan and I encounter the sweet whispers of death in the near future.
